I purchased this item from Amazon (yes, with free shipping to Hawaii! =^_^=) and its awesome. Its set up in my bedroom and it works great. The sound system could use more base, but hey for , this is a great CD player, iPod dock, Alarm clock, radio, I use it with my iPhone with an AUX jack, and play my iTunes remotely. It also comes with a fully functional remote. This has a lot of features for being compact.

UPDATE: I JUST TRIED THE AUX JACK AND ITS TERRIBLE, THERE IS BARELY ANY SOUND COMING OUT OF THE SYSTEM. THIS ITEM IS BEING RETURNED FOR A REFUND. CAN'T UPDATE STARS GIVEN!

Questionable Quality
After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to take a risk and purchase this unit. I agree that it has great sound quality, and has a nice look. I purchased one for my office; it's compact and a great fit. CD and radio work fine. However, the iPod function doesn't work, which was one of the main reason I selected the system. It charges it, and I can control the iPod - I simply cannot hear it. So for the price paid, I guess I should have expected problems. I have to send it back to the manufacturer (postage NOT paid) and the will send me another unit (postage paid). It's a great item in the event that yours comes in full working order. I'll let you know what happens the second time around.

Overpriced, but works
I use this for my Creative Zen mp3 player. It's cheaply made, and is worth about . But it works surprisingly well, except for its disadvantages.

When you put an mp3 player in it, you then have two sets of batteries to worry about, the batteries for the mp3 and the battery for the speakers. And when you turn it off, you have to turn it off on the mp3 player and again for the speakers. And of course to turn it off for the mp3 player, you have to unzip the case. It's very easy to forget to turn one of the two off, and then you are wasting electricity and more importantly, creating a hassle for yourself.

So, forget about listening for 5 minutes. It's too much of a hassle to listen for a short time.

However, I have discovered that I can use the climbing connector to hook to a hanger and listen in the shower! The case is protective enough that I think it's unlikely to damage the mp3 player.

For it to get a higher rating, there would have to be a system to turn off the mp3 player and the speaker at the same time, easily. Or the price would have to drop.

Just What I Needed
I Just got the speaker less than an hour ago. When I opened the package I was really suprised. I though it would be a little smaller but I don't really care. The sound is pretty amazing. I was a little skeptical when purchasing the product. I didn't know if it was going to be good quality make or sound. But when I put it on it actually sounds really good. I have a Creative Labs Zen 8GB and I put it in as soon as I opened the package. The sound is great and I think it looks pretty cool.

Neat little device
I think some of these reviewers need to lower their expectations a bit and read the product description before bashing this. This thing has one speaker and protects your iPod. It is a niche product.

There is no iPod control once it's zipped up. Only volume. Use a playlist!

It runs off AAA batteries and the iPod battery. How can anyone think the sound would be outstanding? On the other hand, I was surprised how loud it was only running off this power source. I have my 5.1 computer speakers, my 5.1 Home Theatre, Ipod dock, in ear headphones, and audiophile cans...now I have convenient and cheap totable music.

*With it's clasp I've hooked it onto a golf bag so I can play music on the green of a deserted golf course with my friends.

*Great way to bring music on a beach.

*Drinking on a patio without worrying about bulky equipment.

Everyone of my friends who has seen wonders what the hell it is before I play, and they all ending up saying it's a neat device. Nice product.

Good value for the money
I bought it for . What do you expect. I didn't expect much but turned out to be a very decent speaker.

Works well, but doesn't replace an MP3 player
I bought this for my 4 year-old daughter for Christmas because she wanted an MP3 player like her older siblings. It is very easy for her to use however, it's hard to find new Mix Clip cards for it - Target only carries one or two and we have them both. Also, the Mix Clip cards are so small that they're very easy to lose. In the end, my daughter is disappointed that she didn't get an MP3 player so that she could listen to exactly what she wants just like the "big kids."

Great for kids
This was the perfect gift for our 7 year old daughter, she loves it to death!
I got a few mix clips to go with it, but also got her some memory cards so we can download off emusic.
It's been dropped and stolen by our 3 year old and still doing wonderfully!

Good
This thing looks corny as hell, but it works. Fits XM MyFi perfectly if you cut a hole for the earphones. Don't buy this to wear on your arm, the MyFi (and I assume any other radio that is similar in size) is just too big for this to work. I'm a pretty big guy, but when I straped this to my arm it just looked ridiculous. It also is uncomfortable and obtrusive on your arm because it bobs around due to it's weight. On top of that, the blue accents are pretty gay looking. It almost looks like a fanny pack. I don't know why they didn't just make this all black.

I use this thing primairly on my motorcycle and for that it works great. The XM signal is pretty much perfect using only the MyFi's built-in antenna with the radio on my back under my jacket. This case is very comfortable. I wear it for hours and barely notice it's there. The MyFi's ear buds probably wouldn't work too well on a bike, so I use koss "the plug" earphones. XM 82 "The System" on a motorcycle is a beautiful thing.

the practical choice
I knew that this product would be reliable since I also have a Case Logic case for my digital camera. At first the case is awkward to use, as there is no access to your music player's buttons, and the headphones are too easily disconnected through the top of the case. However, this case package is very versatile. In addition to keeping my Gigabeat safe, I can exercise with the armband. Otherwise, I use the included belt to hide the Gigabeat between two shirts, hence keeping my music with me while leaving my pockets and belt free.

Perfect fit for iPod 20GB (4th generation monochrome)
My iPod 20GB (4th generation monochrome) has a silicone skin for protection, but I wanted a little bit more protection for working out at the gym and long walks/jogs. I looked at quite a few "sports" cases, but I was pretty disappointed at what I found. Many of the "sports" cases could only be worn on the arm and the quality/durability seemed questionable. Most felt and looked like they wouldn't last very long (especially if exposed to sweat) and they were more expensive than the one that I eventually purchased. The biggest problem that I found was that I would have to remove the silicone skin to use the "sports" cases.

The Case Logic MP3 player case was the first one that I looked at, but I dismissed it. After looking at all the other "sports" cases, I came back to Case Logic. In comparison to the others, it was a perfect fit for me and my iPod.

Here are all the benefits or the pluses that I found for Case Logic:

1) It is a perfect fit (like a glove) for my iPod model WITH the silicone skin on.
2) There are multiple ways to wear it with it's easily detachable (but secure) belts for wearing on your arm or around your waist. You can also securily hold it in your hand using the loop or slip the loop through your pant belt.
3) If you use the Case Logic belt, there's a couple of mesh pockets to carry your earbud headphones, coins, and keys.
4) The construction and material appears to be very durable. (A big selling point for me since I go to the gym at least four times a week so it gets a lot of use.)
5) Although you can't operate the iPod with the cover closed, if you have to unzip it to change the volume or change songs, it stays secure because the headphone jack is like a nail that keeps it in place.

If you've got a 4th generation iPod, I highly recommend this case.

Perfect case
I bought this case for my Gemini XS200. It is a very nice fit, with a cable outlet on top for the headphone cable. It is made out of good solid, waterproof material. I haven't actually used any of the add-on straps supplied with the case, because I haven't needed to. It is so small that it easily fits in your pocket, and there is also a hand strap attached to it that is good to use when jogging. The add-on straps are an arm band and another one that goes around your waist, in which you can also place keys and other items. For under , you can't beat this case.

Size correction
Just a heads up in case you try to buy this based on the stated dimensions, like I did, and end up with a case that is too small for the purpose you may have in mind. The actual inside dimensions are more like 4.3 inches high, 2.5 inches wide, and 1 inch deep.

iLive Boombox
Sound quality is o.k., not great. No plastic spacers included for new Nano's. Shipping and packaging was good. Not impressed but decent ipod player for the money.

Worked well....for 6 months
We liked the product. Volume was ok, had ipod, radio, aux input, and cd player. Fairly lightweight and portable. Remote was nice too.

Then one day, it just stopped working mid-song. The radio thinks it's playing but no sound comes out for ANY of the sources (ipod, radio, cd). And of course the warranty has expired.

great little radio
I bought this radio to use at work (I'm in construction) I picked this unit because the radio surrounds the ipod giving it protection from dirt and debris typically expected on a construction site.
The radio and Ipod portion work well for my need.
the cd port is found on top of the radio and I expect that it will eventually fill with dirt and dust rendering the cd player useless. but as of now it works flawlessly.
The sound of the unit is very good and the volume is very good as well.
when using the AC adapter, the radio charges the ipod
unfortunately the radio also charges the ipod when running on batteries. (it takes 8 D cell batteries) that's not good
overall this radio is great unless you intend to listen to your ipod and run it on batteries.

The product is exactly as described. Easy to use. Looks nice. Sounds good. Great for a teen.

Good for the money!
The first one I ordered from Amazon didn't charge my ipod. I sent it back and the next one worked fine. This clock has many features and I really like it. It was a great buy for the money, much less than the iHome. I would recommend this eventhough the first didn't work.

Worth every penny
This is indeed a neat little contraption. As cheap as it is, I have found it to be very reliable, and the battery life unbelievable. I do have the same problems as the last reviewer though; it sorts the songs in some sort of pseudo-alphabetical order (I believe it does it by actual filename, not the mp3 tag that displays on itunes and windows media). It is also annoying to search through songs (it is faster to stop playback and then sort that way). However, because you are not storing 1000 songs on this thing, it isn't too much of a problem.

Aside from this, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It seems very durable/reliable, has very long battery life on only one AAA. It has great aesthetics and is also very small and lightweight. Most importantly, at least in IMO, the sound quality is great, partially due to the fact that it has a CUSTOM EQ. I have never cared for any eq presets that are included on any mp3 player (iPod included). In a nutshell, if you want topnotch mp3 playback but don't need 1000 songs on a device, get this.

Good Entry-Level MP3 by RCA
I picked up one of these today after noticing that it was on sale at Shopko for a little over thirty dollars. As someone who has most of his music on vinyl or CD, I don't have a need for a system that holds umpty-thousand songs. I tend to listen to an album for a few weeks and then start something else, rotating my collection. This little MP3 player holds about 130 songs. I have about 70 on mine and that's perfect. In a month or so, I'll dump them and put some new ones on.

Upon opening, I noted that RCA had forgotten to package the wrist strap with it. I don't really care, as I wouldn't use it, but that's not very good quality control.

This system is easy to use. It runs off Yahoo Music software. I downloaded all I needed from multiple albums in about a half hour with no experience using one of these. The sound is very good, and can be adjusted for different types of music using the equalizer function.

As it is a low-end model, it does no allow you to scroll by album and then song. You have to fast-forward through your whole collection to find the song you want to hear. Also, songs did not download in order by album but ended up mixed together. Not what I wanted, but kind of nice to not know what's coming up next. Good display with name of band, album and song.

Uses one AAA battery. Supposed to play about ten hours on one battery. Very small, easily fits into a shirt pocket.

Worth every penny of the thirty-four bucks I paid. Nowhere near as great as an iPod but nowhere near as expensive. I find the sound to be equal of the iPod, just not the ease of use.

UPDATE: With the lowering prices of Sansas and other systems, this system is much less competitive than it was when I initially wrote this review.
